Snapshots Of May // Life Lately....

  1. Yep so not every photo turns out lol. Sometimes this is what he really thinks of me in his face with the camera. About 30 seconds after he refused to move the finger he just looked at me and laughed....
  2. What I got my mum for Mothers Day. She is a lover of pretty things, knitting and cats, I think I summed it all up pretty nicely. (Card from able and game and the little Nanna knitted brooch from kitty came home)
  3. This was how I spent some of Mothers Day. Soaking up hot tea, pink champagne, and perfectly baked small treats at the Julie Goodwin High Tea, which was also a fundraiser for the McGrath foundation.
  4. Over night road tip down south to Canberra, pit stopping by The Big Merino! I could have shown you the photo of the other end of the sheep. Got to love Australia we leave nothing to the imagination. I went along with my mum to the Old Bus Depot Markets to shop for some of Australia's finest merino wool for all these Weaves I need to make for a coming market I'll be doing on the coast later in the year.
  5. Alba STILL Frozen obsessed.....
  6. Creative day with friends making Hanging Moss Balls. It all got pretty messy and muddy when the kids wanted to make mud pies.
  7. I have been trying to make the most of these sunny few days when I just have my little guy for the day, by heading to the biggest sandpit in town, going for a walk and letting him play at the beach. Sometimes I think I enjoy the beach more in the colder months. So peaceful, the crisp salty air and the warmth of the sun on your back.
  8. Drawing in the sand.
  9. A beautiful Autumn sky.
  10. Invading the neighbors front yard to throw Autumn leaves at each other.

Fun With Pom Poms // Lets Make A Cactus...

Seriously! How much fun are pom-poms? It doesn't matter if you're five or eighty two it's something you can make and once you've mastered the basic pom-pom you'll be able to knock this bad boy up in no time.

You're going to need a few things...
One medium sized green pom-pomOne small sized pink pom-pomOne medium sized brown pom-pomScissors Glue (I highly recommend using a hot glue gun, much easier and less messy).Cardboard egg container (to use one cup section as the cacti's little pot). Some Paint (I used gold spray paint).

Firstly cut and trim one egg cup section from the carton. Paint your egg cup container 'Pot' and leave it to dry. It should be dry by the time you have finished cutting your cactus into shape.

Make your three different pom-poms in the colours and sizes needed. (Make sure you leave the tied pom-pom strings through the centre of the pom-poms long, you'll need these to tie your pink and green pom-poms together).

The trickiest part …
