Instagram Photo Challenge...

Lately I've been given a few Instagram photo challenges or tagged in, like the #blackandwhitechallenge. This was a five day challenge to take a photo each day but it had to be in B&W. Another is #widn (what I'm doing now?), don't think I need to explain that one.

Anyway when I started my blog and started up an Instagram account I posted a photo with the heading 'Moments Through Their Eyes'. A little challenge I thought I would put out there, mainly for myself. It was with the idea of starting  to take more photos from my kids' perspective rather than from mine all the time. I try and capture little moments, through their eyes, mostly because I'm so curious as to how their little minds work, how they see and interpret the world. It's actually harder than you think, to get a great photo, at the right moment, and not just photograph the back of their head....haha!
So, I put the challenge to you. Give it a go! Tag me so I can see, use the hashtag #momen…

Handmade Crafty Wedding Gifts...

We are off to a Wedding at the end of the month, and I am pretty excited. Love a good Wedding! A chance to get dolled up. Hair, make up, know all the girly stuff. It's also wonderful to be invited to share in something that is so magical in someone else's life, to feel the love and happiness that they share.  But sometimes it's rather hard to find the perfect gift to suit the couple. These days a lot of couples don't want a gift so much, as they would like a little bit of cash instead. To either help with a honeymoon, a new house, or even just to help pay for some of the wedding. And hey!, that's cool with me (I believe I did that myself!). Even so, I still like to give a little personal gift to go along with a cash pressie.
Being a lover of handmade, crafty items (check out my DIY Envelopes), I buy local whenever I can. I've been searching the internet this last week and have put together below a list of some beautiful, in-expensive gifts that you …

At Home - Baking Up A Frozen Storm

Wow what a week!!! Lots of baking and cake decorating around the place last week. With our 'Little lady' turning the big FOUR. We had to make cupcakes AND a cake. They all had to be the Disney FROZEN theme (of course, what else! right?). Alba is a mad fan, as most kids her age are. I seriously don't remember there being such a big Disney film like this when I was a kid, but then again I wasn't the Princess type (total tomboy I was).
Anyways I thought I would just share some pictures of our baking week and a little run down on the cake.

If you're inspired by this cake for your little one's birthday, it's pretty easy if you have made a cake or two before. I mean I've never done a cake decorating class, I've just been making cakes for my kids and their cousins.
I used this recipe for the cake White Chocolate Mud Cake. This is a fantastic website, they give you step by step recipe instructions + pictures as you go. Makes it so much easier to follow. This …

Bonjour Markets....

I just love getting out on a weekend and discovering new places, events and hotspots around town. I am particularly favoured towards going to markets and festivals as I mentioned in one of my last posts when I answered the questions in myLiebster Awardnomination.
So this Saturday together with my little rug-rats on a beautiful spring day, we went to see a market called the 'French Country Market'. While relatively small as markets go, it is gorgeous, well organised and very spacious. It has a diverse range of stalls, great tasty food and even a Frenchman playing the accordion, filling the market with beautiful French sounds. If you love vintage, handmade, home wares, jewellery, fashion, and shopping for those unique gifts then this is the market for you. Check out their Facebook page for more details and photos. (Facebook - French Country Market)
One of me and two kids, I was a little out numbered. I didn't get to take as many photos as I would have liked but we managed to g…

Hunter Valley Escape...

Just recently the hubby and I ran away for a night at the Hunter Valley. It was mostly to celebrate our 5th wedding Anniversary but was also to just escape, relax, unwind and not change any shitty nappies or hear the words 'Mum' or 'Dad' for a least 24 hours.

Driving into the region it is so lovely with the picturesque vineyard views all around you, going from seaside to the gorgeous country side in only a short trip. We checked into the very impressive Crowne Plaza Resort. It was everything and a little more that a resort should be, comfy, clean room complete with white robes which is a little luxury I quite enjoy, and a little welcome gift of chocolates too (score!).

So the first thing we did was jump onto a wine tasting tour, mini bus style (with Vineyard Shuttle Service) they picked us up right from the front door of the resort. Actually this wasn't just a wine tasting tour, it include cheese and chocolate tasting too. Now I must say I'm not much of a wine dr…
