Summer In Style....

So who else is looking forward to Summer? Well I'm a little half-hearted about it. One half of me hates the extreme heat we experience here in Australia but the other half loves that it means more time outside, at the beach, and wearing light or "barely-there" clothing.

I've been searching around for some essential summer styles. Things that I could use countless times, things that are just classic pieces really.

Here's what I found....

1/   Tigerlily - Halter One Piece ~ A timeless (retro inspired) black one piece cozi. Can't go wrong I say! And for us mums out there who may need to cover a little of our own tiger stripes this is purr-fect

2/   Sportsgirl - Loose Tank ~ Crisp ocean blue tank. This colour is just Hot! I can't get enough, and it  goes with pretty much anything shorts, pants, skirts. Dress it up or dress it down.

3/  The Beach People 'Roundie' Towel ~ Seriously hard to pick a favourite, this one is the 'The Majorette'. Make a statement with this gorgeous towel. (Free shipping on these Australia wide, you little ripper).

4/  Arnhem Clothing 'Moonshine Kimono Delilah' ~ I'm swooning over this standout piece. Crafted from soft silk-like rayon fabric. Over your swimmers, everyday wear or special occasions, doesn't matter where.

5/  OneTeaspoon ' Brando 20/20 Skirt ~ High waisted (tick! yes please) Long (tick again!) sorry I just can't do shortie shorts all the time anymore, sure if I was still twenty something no problem, but when I'm bending over picking up kids etc this skirt would be ideal! Love the ripped denim and colour.

6/  Spell Designs 'Gypsy Queen Intimates' ~ They are just sexy and look so comfortable. Colour popping floral design.

7/  Cotton On 'Rubi Shoes' ~ I love my old faithful thongs (flip flops for you Americans, jandals for Kiwi's) but I do grow tired of them. These little flats are perfect, simple and easy wearing.

I hope you’re inspired by these pieces! Let me know if you enjoy this style board post so I can continue to share them with you!

Enjoy your week

xx

  1. I love that black cozi, i'm fortunate that everything went back to 'normal' post baby but at 33 i just feel like i want to cover up a bit more. I'm also loving the Sportsgirl top. (I just popped over from Patchwork Cactus!)

  2. I love this style board Bec - please do more! I'm such a huge fan of the roundie towels. They are just gorgeous and something a little different from a standard beach towel. I've always admired them from afar but think there will be one on my Christmas list this year!

Fun With Pom Poms // Lets Make A Cactus...

Seriously! How much fun are pom-poms? It doesn't matter if you're five or eighty two it's something you can make and once you've mastered the basic pom-pom you'll be able to knock this bad boy up in no time.

You're going to need a few things...
One medium sized green pom-pomOne small sized pink pom-pomOne medium sized brown pom-pomScissors Glue (I highly recommend using a hot glue gun, much easier and less messy).Cardboard egg container (to use one cup section as the cacti's little pot). Some Paint (I used gold spray paint).

Firstly cut and trim one egg cup section from the carton. Paint your egg cup container 'Pot' and leave it to dry. It should be dry by the time you have finished cutting your cactus into shape.

Make your three different pom-poms in the colours and sizes needed. (Make sure you leave the tied pom-pom strings through the centre of the pom-poms long, you'll need these to tie your pink and green pom-poms together).

The trickiest part …
